There is a part of you that still wants to pop the claws out. That part is fine. A good 7 out of 10 knows what it is. You wander, you do something goofy, you have a romp, and you remember it.
The harder question is aesthetic. When a project tries to include every look, every note, and every person at once, the result settles on the average. The character looks like a fellow you already know. The song sounds like the last three songs. The book uses the trope that already made the money. People still buy the ticket for the thing that is not average. They fly somewhere specific. They want a job that is not the usual job. They remember Hugh Jackman because he was not the fellow from accounting.
If inclusion is the top priority, standing out gets crowded out. The first interesting thing is a blue ocean. Then the industry copies it, protects the investment, and treats the next unusual idea like a threat. Your job is the gap you already feel. The drawing you wish existed. The sound you keep not hearing. If you are tired of the copy, other people are tired of it too.
Make the thing you actually like. Get it in front of people. A marketed 7 will always be available. Work that can be remembered is rarer.
