Geological Survey Ireland Understanding Coastal and Climate Change HD

Climate change is a global problem. Increased storminess and sea level rise can cause changes to our coastline and have a significant impact on our coastal communities. Through co-ordinated survey and mapping campaigns, Geological Survey Ireland is developing tools like the Coastal Vulnerability Index to better understand these dynamic processes. The knowledge generated will provide a foundation for monitoring coastal change and help mitigate the impacts of climate change on our coasts
