Day 1 - The Dispatcher Goes To China - Hong Kong (Central and Wan Chai)

Welcome one and all to the first episode in a very special series of videos. This is... The Dispatcher Goes To China! I recently took a two week vacation to Hong Kong, Chongqing, plus Tongren and Fanjingshan. I've been to Hong Kong five times before, starting back in the 80s when I was just a kid, in 84, 86, and 88. I returned for a long stay in 96 as an adult, and the last time I was there was in 2000, immediately following an 11-month stay in Egypt. So it had been more than 25 years, and a lot has changed, but a lot was still very familiar. I'd never been to the now internet-famous "cyberpunk 4D" city - Chongqing, and this was also my first time visiting Tongren and the catalyst for this trip - Fanjingshan. What you should expect to see in these videos is just me being me, having the time of my life. I'm a soft-spoken guy and the presentation is low-key, and hopefully gentle, calming, and relaxing. It is 99% spontaneous and unrehearsed. You might also enjoy some really terrific photography if I do say so myself. Fair warning to parents and kids: There is on-camera cigarette smoking, I make reference to smoking and cannabis use, and I use colourful language from time to time.
