To Lagi Gopo dando and Mokshya - Oriya Abhinaya and pure dance

Odissi Rango Puja by Elora Dash    In this Oriya abhinaya, Radha tells Krishna that because of his string of past misdeeds against the cowherd maidens of Gopapura, known as “gopis”, that the road to Gopapura is now off limits to him.  She recounts the many instances of his past mischief, reminding him of how he tricked them into parting with their butter and curd without pay and how he offered to take them across the Yamuna River and asked for kisses in return.  Isn’t he ashamed of himself, she asks, being from a good family and chasing after all of the girls?  Radha says that though he may be the prince of Gopapura and the darling of King Nanda, and though he may enchant everyone with his flute playing, she still must refuse his request to follow him to the Yamuna.  Raaga:    Taal: Khemta Choreography-Padmavibhushan Guru Kelucharan Mohapatra Music-Pandit Bhubaneswar Mishra
