In a major development in Punjab, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is carrying out searches and surveys linked to an ongoing money-laundering investigation involving the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and private real-estate companies. According to reports, ED teams have conducted searches at multiple locations across Mohali, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Panchkula and Delhi. The operation reportedly covers 26 premises and is connected to Tirupati Infraprojects Pvt Ltd and associated companies. The agency is examining alleged financial concessions, property transactions and dealings involving GMADA and private developers. ([Hindustan Times] The investigation has also reached Ludhiana, where ED officials searched the residence of Gurpreet Singh Prince, also known as Anmol, who is reported to be the nephew of Punjab Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian. Reports also say that the residence of former GMADA Chief Administrator and senior IAS officer Rajiv Gupta was searched. ([The Tribune][3]) The ED is reportedly investigating suspected undue financial benefits of more than ₹100 crore connected with two major GMADA auction sites. Tirupati Infraprojects and other associated companies are part of the investigation, while Tila Consultants and Contractors Pvt Ltd is also reportedly under scrutiny.
