How the CIA Hunted the USS Cole Bombers

On October 12, 2000, a devastating terrorist attack struck the USS Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen, killing 17 American sailors and injuring 39 others. What followed was a secret intelligence operation involving the CIA, FBI, NSA, and American special forces to track down the al-Qaeda network responsible. Deep in Yemen's remote mountains and deserts, investigators faced dangerous militant networks, political obstacles, and an enemy determined to remain hidden. Using intercepted communications, satellite phone tracking, and advanced surveillance technology, American intelligence agencies gradually closed in on one of al-Qaeda's most wanted leaders. Then, a single phone call changed everything. This documentary reveals the investigation behind the USS Cole bombing, the pursuit of al-Qaeda operatives, and the landmark 2002 CIA drone strike that marked a turning point in modern counterterrorism operations.
