ಆನೆಕೆರೆಯ ಚೆನ್ನಕೇಶವ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರ ಕಾಲದ 11 ..12ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಚನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಆನೆಕೆರೆ ಎಂಬ ಅಗ್ರಹಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಜಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾದ ಏಕಕೂಟ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಇಮ್ಮಡಿ ವೀರ ಬಲ್ಲಾಳರ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿತ ಈ ಒಂದು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ದೇವಾಲಯ ವಿಜಯೋತ್ಸವದ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿ ವಿಮಾನ ಗೋಪುರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೃಹತ್ ಕಳಶವನ್ನ ಕಲ್ಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಿಥಿಲಾವಸ್ತೆ ತಲುಪಿದ್ದ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವನ್ನು 2003ರಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಯುವಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಘ-ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯವರ ಸಹಕಾರದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಪುನರ್ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ನಯನ ಮನೋಹರವಾದ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೌಮ್ಯ ನಾಯಕಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಗಣಪತಿಯು ನೆಲೆಸಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರತಿ ವರ್ಷ ಬೇಲೂರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯುವ ರಥೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣೋತ್ಸವ ಆನೆಕೆರೆ ಅಮ್ಮನವರ ಉತ್ಸವದಂದು ವಿಶೇಷ ದೈವ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ಹಾಸನದಿಂದ 35km ಹಾಗೂ ಚನ್ನರಾಯಪಟ್ಟಣದಿಂದ 6 km ಅಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಈ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ನೀವು ಕೂಡ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಭೇಟಿ ಕೊಡಿ. . . . The historical Chennakeshava Temple of Anekere is a magnificent Hoysala-era monument built during the 11th–12th century under the reign of King Veera Ballala II. Constructed as an Ekakuta (single-shrine) temple in the ancient Agrahara village of Anekere to commemorate a grand military victory, it features a unique, massive stone Kalasha (finial) carved atop its Vimana tower as a victory monument. Though the temple had fallen into severe ruin over the centuries, it was beautifully restored and re-consecrated in 2003 through the joint efforts of local youth and community organizations. Today, this visually captivating temple houses the shrines of Goddess Soumya Nayaki and Lord Ganapati, hosting special divine rituals and a grand Kalyanotsava every year during the Anekere Ammanavara Otsava, which coincides with the famous Belur Chariot Festival.
