Buying in bulk only saves money if the food gets eaten. A five-pound tray of ground beef or a family pack of chicken is sized for a grocery shelf, not for one dinner, and the work of dividing it has to happen on the day it comes home. This video walks through the freezer guidelines of the National Center for Home Food Preservation and applies them to eight foods: ground beef, chicken, spinach, cheese, berries, butter, fresh herbs, and garlic in oil. You will hear how to set the freezer, how to package and label food, which foods lose texture, why garlic in oil needs special care, and how to thaw safely. Each food gets its own portion size, wrapping method, and storage time, so the freezer stays organized and nothing is wasted. A simple cost example (illustrative numbers, not store prices) shows when a bulk package is the better value and when the smaller one wins.
