Lyrics:
Red hair in the black light
Blade-born, flame-eyed
Everybody ran home
But Morning stayed behind
Old Ones waking
Demons without names
She stepped through the nightmare
And became a whirlwind of flames
They opened the gate, and the darkness drew near
The air whispered names no one wanted to hear
No stars in the heavens, no birds overhead
Just a blood-colored sky—and a world that fed
Nox came first with his soul-blade drawn
A giant in the dark before the false dawn
Morning beside him, fire in her stare
Chaos marks burning through the smoke-filled air
Behind them came the lost and the brave
The ones Nox gathered from the edge of the grave
Hunters, prophets, soldiers, seers
All walking forward through their own worst fears
But this was not Earth, not any place known
It was an old dimension where horrors had grown
And deep in the ruins where the black winds crawled
The Old Ones stirred when they heard blood called
[Chorus]
Morning, Morning, red as the sun
She walks where the living were never meant to come
While the red sky trembles and the dark winds rise
She feels something watching through a thousand eyes
She cuts one down, takes the power inside
Moves like thunder with her soul set wide
The Old Ones scream when the red flame climbs
Morning gets stronger every time
The first Old One rose from a lake of bone
With a thousand dead mouths and a cathedral groan
Its fingers were towers, its eyes were pits
Its shadow made brave men lose their grip
Nox swung hard and the darkness split
But the beast healed fast from the heart of it
Morning saw something no one else saw clear
A crack in its hunger, a pulse in its fear
She moved like a spark through a hurricane wall
Red hair flying as the heavens did fall
Her hands caught fire, her marks burned white
Then she carved her name through the belly of night
The demon collapsed with a world-shaking cry
And black rain started falling upward to the sky
But Morning stood still as the corpse turned dim
And the power inside it poured into her skin
Her breath got colder
Her eyes burned bright
One death behind her
More speed, more might
[Repeat Chorus]
Then came the second with a crown of flies
Speaking dead languages through borrowed eyes
It knew her chains, knew the Chaos brand
Tried to make her kneel with a lifted hand
It said, “Little weapon, little flame in the rain
You were made to be held, you were made to be chained
You were shaped as a sword, you were born to obey
Bow down now, or be broken today”
Morning smiled with blood on her teeth
Said, “You don’t know what burns underneath
I was steel, I was sorrow, I was locked away
But every chain taught my soul how to slay”
She struck so fast that the world went pale
Left red light stitched like a comet trail
The Old One fell with its curse half-spoken
And another dark kingdom inside her opened
Now she was faster than the eye could track
Here, then gone, then behind your back
Each demon she ended became fuel for the storm
And the woman called Morning became something more
Nox saw the gate start folding in flame
He shouted her name, but she never came
The others fell through to the world they knew
While the dying dimension split in two
He reached for her once through the closing door
But she stood on the far side, ready for more
Red hair blazing in the demon wind
With a look that said, “This is where I begin”
[Repeat Chorus]
Alone in the ruins where the dead moons hang
She hunted by sound when the great bones sang
No army beside her, no hand to hold
Just a heart full of fire and a will gone cold
Third one came with a mountain face
Fourth one bent the laws of space
Fifth one whispered in her mother’s voice
Sixth one offered her a painless choice
But Morning was done being anyone’s tool
Done being bound by another lord’s rule
She tore through their nightmares, drank their might
And turned each grave into red starlight
The Chaos marks cracked, but they did not fade
They glowed like scars on a living blade
Every kill made the old chains thin
Every scream woke the dawn within
Old Ones rise
Old Ones fall
Morning walks
Through the screaming hall
Red flame flash
Black blood rain
Every dead demon
Makes her break the chain
Morning, Morning, red as the sun
She don’t back down and she don’t run
Far from Nox and the world she saved
She dances with monsters in a godless grave
She cuts one down, takes the power inside
Faster than fear with the fire as her guide
The Old Ones know when the red light shines
Morning gets stronger every time
Back on Earth, Nox remembers her face
And the open wound of that vanished place
Beyond the gate where the dead stars burn
Morning still fights from where no one can return
Not as a sword
Not as a slave
Not as the woman
The Chaos Lords made
But red dawn rising
Through a kingdom of thorns
And every demon she kills
Leaves her stronger than before
