Gonbo Rangjan is a holy standalone mountain part of Himalayas - key indicator of Zanskar valley. With no proper motorable road, reaching here is an experience in itself. We trekked for around 1.5 to 2 hours through rugged terrain to finally witness this stunning monastery built inside a natural cave. Inside, we had the rare opportunity to step into the monks’ kitchen, share a warm cup of chai, and have a short yet meaningful conversation with them. Moments like these make travel truly unforgettable.
