A wedding that was being planned has now turned into funeral preparations for Leonea Baraza, who lost his fiancée, the late Veronica Ngandi, in Friday’s tragic road crash at the Salama blackspot along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway. Veronica was among Catholic faithful travelling on a pilgrimage to the Subukia Shrine for the National Prayer Day. She and Baraza had been planning their wedding for more than two years, including a dowry ceremony that was scheduled for August. But their plans were tragically cut short. As Francis Mtalaki reports, Baraza had spoken to his fiancée shortly before the accident.
