You've Never Seen Italy Like This: Ghostly basilica of Siponto We traveled to Manfredonia during the cold season, when a costume carnival was taking place there on the weekends. I had long wanted to see the twin basilicas in Siponto, near Manfredonia. One part is the medieval Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore di Siponto, a cubic building made of white limestone in the Romanesque style, featuring elements of Apulian and Armenian architecture, with a dome at its center.
