It's actually pretty long in all the Type Zero games. Has some audio bugs after winning a race and some graphical bugs as well. I'm sure these will be fixed. Enhancements: 1080p, 8x Upscale, SSAA Filter Emulator Used: TeknoTZero (Teknoparrot) Hardware: Taito Type Zero Machine: Battle Gear (VER.2.40A) Developer: Taito Publisher: Taito Played: Played four tracks Thoughts: Battle Gear is a arcade racing series by Taito that started life as Side by Side in arcades in 1996 and then eventually had it's name changed to Battle Gear once the third entry rolled around. Battle Gear is one of the first four games released on the Taito Type Zero hardware in it's first year of release in arcades. This was Taito's first big 3D arcade hardware system that was a big hit before they switched to PC hardware based arcade systems such as the Taito Type X series. The Battle Gear games have generally done pretty well in Japan and have made it overseas as well in arcades to. Though I don't know how well they did outside of Japan. Emulation wise Battle Gear works pretty well here. The steering is too sensitive though which caused problems selecting tracks and cars. There are also audio glitches after a race and some minor graphical issues as well. Not that I'm complaining as this is the first time you can play Taito Type Zero games in emulation as these were never playable before. I will try to show all of Taito Type Zero games here on the channel! Battle Gear was never ported and is an arcade exclusive.
