We explored Hot Rods and Rockabilly in Indiana. Over 800 classic cars. Dozens of owner interviews. And more than a few machines we had never seen in our lives. Welcome to the Eville Shindig. Every October the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center in Evansville, Indiana becomes the beating heart of the Atomic Culture scene for the Eville Shindig Hot Rod Kustoms & Rockabilly Weekend, now in its 11th year. We walked the entire grounds and filmed all of it: traditionally styled hot rods, hand-built kustoms, gassers, drag cars, trucks, cycles, and a full vintage camper rally camped on site. Everything 1972 and older. But we didn't just point a camera at pretty paint. We talked to dozens of owners, and they walked us through the stories behind their builds — the chop, the paint, the pinstriping, the history, the reason they'll never sell it. Buried in that sea of steel were cars we had genuinely never seen before. They're all in this video. What makes Eville different is the scene around the cars. The Gathering of the Hearses pulled in hearses, ambulances and flower cars. The Jalopy Jaunt threw 330 feet of dirt drags. Burnout contest. Monsters Ball costume party, pin-up contests, lowbrow art, swap meet, pinstripers, and live rockabilly all weekend long. This is rockabilly, kustom kulture and Atomic Americana at full throttle. Welcome to BossaNova Life — Where Atomic Culture lives! We're Duke and Lola Bossanova, and we live inside a world many people don't even know exists. Atomic Culture is the universe where rockabilly music, kustom kulture, vintage fashion, tiki bars, mid-century modern design, lowbrow art, pinup culture, burlesque, tattoo art, garage punk, rat rod culture, antique collecting, and retro home decor all collide — and we document every corner of it. Based in the Pacific Northwest, we take you inside the events, people, and places that keep this mid-20th-century Americana lifestyle alive. You'll find us touring secret home tiki bars, hunting rare mid-century treasures at antique malls, walking through stunning vintage trailer rallies, sitting down with the artists and collectors who define the scene, and yes — soaking in the jaw-dropping kustom rides and classic pre-1965 iron that show up wherever Atomic Culture gathers. This isn't a car channel. It's a lifestyle. The cars just happen to be part of it. Whether you're a lifelong scene insider who bleeds pomade and knows every pinstriper by name — or a curious outsider who just stumbled into something that feels like home — BossaNova Life is your guide to the full Atomic Culture universe. 📍 Pacific Northwest & Beyond 📬 BossaNova Life P.O.
