Martinez CA Festival - 150 Year Celebration

A walk through Martinez Waterfront Park during the city's 150th Anniversary Celebration. Located along the scenic Carquinez Strait, Martinez is one of Contra Costa County's most historic towns - incorporated in 1876, serving as the county seat since 1850, and historically vital as an 1849 Gold Rush ferry crossing and rail gateway with its 1877 South Pacific depot nearby. It is famed as the birthplace of New York Yankees legend Joe DiMaggio, the home of naturalist John Muir, and the origin of the Martini cocktail. The festival featured in this video celebrates this 150th anniversary milestone with food stalls and trucks, live music, kites by the bay, and community fun across the park and waterfront.
