Here I review my base and show off some of the gameplay of #infectionfreezone The key take-aways: 1. The developers should make the Fortified Wall at least 6k health but 10k HP would be more appropriate. Swarms can too easily break them down and they aren't worth the resources. Adding too many wall layers is hard because of the path not found issues. 2. You can send your squads out and leap frog them in groups backwards so some are shooting and stationary whilst those at the front are falling back before they get hit. Allowing for somewhat safe attacking. 3. Attacking the hordes and goading them into a clear field at sunrise is the best option, then you can take them out really easily. Otherwise you'll want to send multiple squads in to the buildings, just don't lose sight of which buildings have infected in them. 4. Enemy Rebels are a pain, later on they'll have AK's / rifles not just bats and hand weapons and will shred your car's HP and directly injure your squad members. Get your squads inside a building or at least get them out of your car if you can and keep the rebels away from your citizens 5. DON'T try making a 2nd base. It's a bad idea because your citizens will try going from one to the other and depending on how far away they are, might not get much time to actually work on the 2nd base. Instead just try to expand your current base. Destroy and rebuild buildings if you need. 6. Food takes some effort to get right. Start off by finding cans of food and scavenging buildings. Apparently it's about 4 citizens a day can be fed from 1 crate of canned food. Soon enough you'll want a field (vast fields are good) and a cookhouse, expand these over time and get a barn. You'll want enough size for the cookhouse and barn, maybe small ones at first then go for some somewhat larger buildings. when you need. It takes a sizeable amount of the population to grow the grain, cook it and also feed the animals. 7. Select somewhere in the tropics unless you want winter. At least, that's what I'm guessing. A cannery is OK, but mostly useful for people who are in a climate where there's snowy winters where you need to focus on canned food. But each can requires 1 metal which is a pain to get. A greenhouse probably also helps in such colder climates, I'm not sure. 8. I should have explained more about selecting a good location. Having a bunch of suitable sized buildings, with some defensive perimeter but also being able to dismantle some buildings nearby for more resources. 9. The game got me addicted. It's been hard to do much work because I want to finish this (and move on). But I'm used to games with levels and missions and this just keeps going (a bit like Ark Survival Evolved which also turned into a game I ended spending WAY too much time on). But I don't expect that many people to really get into it. https://store.steampowered.com/app/14...
