Pramoda Devi Wadiyar Slams Govt : ಅಂಬಾರಿಯೂ ನಮ್ದೇ, ಅರಮನೆಯೂ ನಮ್ದೇ! | Mysuru Palace

Royal family matriarch Pramoda Devi Wadiyar issued a strong clarification regarding the ownership of Mysuru Palace, the 750-kg Golden Howdah (Ambari), and the Golden Throne. Addressing ongoing political debates, she asserted that the historic Golden Howdah and Golden Throne are private property of the Yadu dynasty and do not belong to the state government. Speaking on the Mysore Palace Acquisition Act of 1998 currently challenged in the Supreme Court, Pramoda Devi emphasized that the government only receives the howdah out of courtesy for cultural Dasara celebrations against an honorarium, not as rented property. She also suggested that if the government faces issues, it can create its own howdah for public processions.
