Sega CD Model 1 Advice

Why you should never pay "full retail" for a model 1 Sega CD. I've recapped four of these so far. Only one of them didn't need new SMD capacitors. They leak all over the board and will eventually ruin the console if they aren't replaced. Besides that the Sony and JVC drives both have reliability issues (at first). Most of the issues with the Sega CD Model 1 are caused by age and neglect. All of these issues are fixable but it will cost you another $40+ in repairs to make one of these reliable.
