IP Data and Information: WIPO-IPOM Meister Training Program

On October 5, 2026, I had the privilege of speaking at the "WIPO-IPOM IP Meister Training Program for the Digital Economy" in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. The program was co-organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of Mongolia (IPOM). In Session 4, I covered "IP Data and Information: Patents, Trademarks, Designs, and Their Strategic Use". Key topics included: 1) Technology and Market Landscaping: Understanding market movements through patent data. 2) Idea Generation: Finding new product ideas using dead or foreign-only patents and the 5W1H framework. 3) IP Registration and Protection: Utilizing free databases (WIPO Patentscope, Global Design Database, Global Brand Database, KIPRIS) before filing. 4) Business Development: How investors and partners assess company value through IP data.
