His dynamic energy paired with my animation elevates it to a whole new level, and I’m thankful to Dan for allowing his work to be used in such a creative way. Though the song was written in 1963, long before smartphones, I’ve always felt it foresaw the world we live in today — a place where people are constantly “talking,” but genuine conversation is rare. We communicate with our thumbs instead of our voices, sit together yet remain disconnected, each absorbed in the neon glow of our screens — our modern “neon god.” The shifting colors move through a neon rainbow, not to set a mood, but to represent a journey through this connected yet silent world: from calm blues to loud brightness, and back again. It’s a visual language for a society always linked, yet strangely quiet. I hope you enjoy the animation.
