On January 2, 2016, a London police officer saw Shelley Joy Desrochers near Lorne Avenue and English Street. Nineteen days later her family finally got police involved. Her purse turned up in a drug-linked residence. Her health card appeared three years later on Hamilton Road. She has never been found. Shelley was a 41-year-old mother and grandmother. Her last ordinary conversation with sister Laura was on December 31, 2015. Nothing seemed wrong. By February 1, 2016, after her bank account stayed untouched, police issued an official missing-person notice. A dedicated tip line (519-660-5842) has received hundreds of tips. A person of interest linked to both her case and the 2009 disappearance of Kathryn Bordato later died. Volunteer group Please Bring Me Home continues ground searches. As of 2026 the London Police Service still lists the case as open. If you recognize the rose tattoo, the heart-and-bluebird tattoo, or the distinctive pigeon-toed walk, contact authorities.
