THE SIGHT & THE SOUND 1/13 : Balkan Bulgarian B 737-500 LZ-BOB documentary from Frankfurt to Sofia

BALKAN BULGARIAN AIRLINES B 737-53A LZ-BOB FRANKFURT - SOFIA This video features a flight onboard Balkan Bulgarian Airlines Boeing 737-500 LZ-BOB on an uneventful flight from Frankfurt to Sofia, more than 15 years ago. Although the name of my channel is "The Sights & Sounds of Classic Aviation", I decided to add this video upon requests from esteemed viewers to complete the video collection of flights onboard Balkan Bulgarian Airlines, which went into history many years ago. In June 2000, I was invited to Bulgaria to join a rotation onboard Hemus Air YAK-40 from Sofia to Leipzig, two rotations onboard Balkan AN-24 from Sofia to Istanbul, Varna and Bourgas and one day long rotation onboard Hemus Air TU-134A from Sofia to Oslo. History of B 737-53A LZ-BOB Airframe 24921 was manufactured 1990 and delivered to Balkan Bulgarian Airlines, registered LZ-BOB, named "City of Plovdiv", December 12, 1990. Her next operator Rio Sul, Brazil, registered her PT-SSO and operated her in full Varig colours for Varig from December 15, 2000 until July, 2006. PT-SSO was returned to her lessor Ansett Worldwide (AWAS), a leasing company based in Dublin, Ireland registered N921AW, July 5, 2006. N921AW was leased to her last operator, Sky Express, Russia and registered VP-BFM, March 9, 2007. VP-BFM was returned to AWAS and registered N249AN, May 24, 2011 and has been reported scrapped at Durham Tees Valley Airport, UK, one month later.
