From Gallu, Triund is roughly a 6–7 km one-way trek, while the distance from McLeod Ganj is longer. The trail becomes progressively steeper, especially towards the final section. 💰TRIUND TREK EXPENSES • Main Square → Gallu Devi Temple cab: ₹300/person • Raincoat: ₹100 pp • Trekking stick: ₹100 deposit, ₹50 refunded on return (per person) • D Square breakfast: ₹180/person • Triund camping package: ₹1,000/person in our experience, including tent + dinner + breakfast • Gallu Devi Temple → McLeod Ganj return cab: ₹350/person 🎒THINGS YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY CARRY Good-grip comfortable shoes, enough water, raincoat/umbrella, extra clothes and socks, medicines, ORS, power bank, charging cable, torch, towel, toiletries, sunglasses, cap, basic snacks and plastic/wet bags to keep your belongings dry. If you're camping overnight, definitely carry something warm as temperatures can drop considerably at the top. A torch/headlamp and power bank are also especially useful. And honestly, don't underestimate the trek just because Triund is often called a beginner-friendly trek. The trail is manageable for many first-time trekkers, but the continuous climb and final steep section can definitely test your stamina.
