James Wild MP presses Foreign Secretary to commit to 3per cent of GDP on defence spending by 2030

James Wild MP has pressed the Foreign Secretary for a commitment to increasing defence spending to 3 per cent of GDp by 2030, warning that deterrence must be backed by stronger military capability. Speaking in the House of Commons during Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Questions, James highlighted the importance of continuing to support Ukraine and deter further Russian aggression. He challenged the Foreign Secretary over the Government’s failure to give a clear commitment to spending 3% of GDP on defence by 2030, despite the Chancellor saying only weeks earlier that reaching that level was essential to defending the country.
