An Indian Express Investigation by Ritika Chopra :    • चुनाव आयोग में बड़ी गड़बड़ियों का खुलासा| ...   The Election Commission has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court defending the legality of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. However, several questions raised by The Indian Express investigation on September 23 remain unanswered. These include changes to Form 6, the role of the ECINet platform, deletion of voters in Goa and appeals filed in West Bengal to restore names. Two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, had reportedly raised objections on several decisions. During the October 27 hearing, the Supreme Court said it would examine the matter, while petitioners sought access to the Commission’s internal files. The next hearing is scheduled for November 17. The court also heard a petition by 21 media organisations challenging the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and DPDP Rules, 2025. They argue that the provisions could threaten investigative journalism, press freedom and the confidentiality of journalistic sources. The Centre has been asked to respond.
