IAM's 1997 masterwork "L'École du Micro d'Argent" boasts some of the best and most interesting samples in the history of Hip-Hop. In my essay I explain what their approach is, how they honed it leading up to their third album and finally provide a brief overview of what makes "L'École" so good.
