Yes, it is unbelievably dry in Durango currently. So dry in fact that we had to cut our ride short due to a fire starting near Dylan's house in town and the possibility of evacuation looming in the near future. Fortunately, the fire was contained quickly, despite seeing the ominous smoke plume looming in the distance as we turned around on Pinkerton Flagstaff and began the descent. Jones Creek, Pinkerton and Dutch (the original planned route) are some of the few trails that are open to moto in the Durango area. What better place to film my first ever Ebike edit than on this high-speed, dust bowl of a trail. Dylan Stucki and I have been riding bikes together for years and is one of the few people I know that actually owns an Ebike. We ate cheeseburgers and took the easy way to the top and I can say with certainty that I regret none of it. This one is not climbable currently on an acoustic bike, so we chose the correct tool for the job. #followcamfriday mopeds in the woods. Next time I am packing my dust mask. Bring on monsoon season! Durango desperately needs the moisture.
