Katmai Bears 7-3-26. Bear #806 Takes 806 Jr. & 128F to the Falls; 806 Jr. Goes Over. explore.org

Watch the live bear cams here: https://www.youtube.com/live/J7ZrIDvq... ➡️ This footage is from 7-3-26. Bear 806 takes her spring cub (806 Jr.) and 128F to the Riffles, then they head to the falls. The stop by the platform when 806 scavenges a fish. 806 allows 128F to eat from the fish with her. The three then head to the lip. 89 has been fishing in the jacuzzi, and 806 appears to be watching him. 89 gets a fish and moves away to eat. 806 moves onto the lip, with 128F and 806 Jr. joining her. 806 moves the group to leave, and 806 Jr. goes over the falls. 806 is right there to protect, and warns 89 away. 89 had taken an interest in what was happening; however, he quickly turned away when 806 warns him. 806 then regroups with her cub and 128F by the platform before leaving. This is not an official adoption, yet anyway. 806 would need to be documented nursing 128F for it to be considered adoption. Time will tell if that will be seen. Later in the evening (not in this video), 806 does share fish with 128F. This particular situation has not been previously observed on the cams, where a sow/mother has allowed a subadult in close proximity with a spring cub/COY, and to travel around with the family.
