Warren Wolf - vibes Peter Beets - piano Herman Burney - bass Willie Bowman - drums What a feeling it was to be surrounded by these musical geniuses. Listening back to it is incredibly much fun. However, I can assure you that interacting with these people live on stage is even more exhilarating. I feel so privileged to have been in this constellation. On vibraphone we find the one and only, the incomparable Warren Wolf. Did you know that Bobby Hutcherson was exclusively calling on him to ‘sub’ if he would be unavailable for a gig? Of course we all know him from his great work with the long standing quintet of high priest Christian McBride. As for Herman Burney, Bass, he is Herman Burney, Bass. What a force of nature, what a beautiful gentleman, what an earthly and divine beat and sound. The young Willie Bowman is the future of Jazz in ipso. He listens, supports, inspires, serves, fires up and delivers to each moment everything that formed him until that very moment. We all came to Baltimore, to the beautiful young venue Keystone Korner, run by the lifelong legendary producer and NEA Jazzmaster Todd Barkan. What an honor to play under his auspices!
