Your phone is not your enemy. But what happens when your phone starts controlling your attention, your desires, your time, and eventually your priorities?
In this Islamic reminder, we explore *how Shaytan can use social media and digital distractions against Muslims* — through the eyes, comparison, endless scrolling, inappropriate content, distraction from Salah, and slowly normalizing what Allah has forbidden.
Allah says in the Quran:
*“Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy.”*
— Surah Fatir 35:6
Social media itself is not automatically haram. Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and smartphones can be used for beneficial purposes. The real question is: *How are you using them?*
One phone can help you listen to Quran, learn Islam and spread beneficial knowledge. The same phone can also expose you to harmful content, waste hours of your life and weaken your connection with Allah.
This video discusses:
• How Shaytan targets your attention
• Social media and lowering the gaze
• How comparison can destroy gratitude
• Why endless scrolling becomes dangerous
• How distractions can affect Salah
• How haram content can slowly become normalized
• Why consuming Islamic content isn't the same as practicing Islam
• How to regain control over your phone
• How to make your phone a tool for good instead of distraction
The goal isn't necessarily to throw away your phone or delete every social media app.
The goal is to *take control back.*
Ask yourself before your next scroll:
*“Is what I'm about to watch bringing me closer to Allah or taking me further away?”*
May Allah protect our eyes, our hearts, our time and our iman. Ameen.
