Final Day Onboard Marella Discovery 2 | Vlog Episode 7

Welcome to Episode 7 — the final day of our Marella Discovery 2 Highlights of the Med Cruise series! Today is all about food, sunshine, relaxing onboard, a stunning Barcelona sail away, and ending the cruise with Marella’s iconic Band Jam. We started the day with a late wake‑up call, so it was the perfect chance to revisit the Islands Buffet. With breakfast running from 7–11am and lunch from 11:30–3pm, there’s always something tasty on offer — from hot dishes to salads, desserts and light bites. You can also enjoy afternoon tea (3–5pm) and dinner (6–9:30pm) here, plus late‑night snacks at The Glass House from 10pm–1am. Being our last day onboard, Gavin couldn’t resist a round of mini golf, followed by a refreshing drink at the Upper Pool Bar. The sun was shining, the port was buzzing, and we even managed to snag a cabana — absolute bliss! Throughout the afternoon, The Glass House served up deli‑style bites including rotisserie chicken, paninis and pasta (11am–5:30pm). With the heat rising, it wasn’t long before we headed back to the pool and hot tub — easily our favourite spot on the whole ship. Later, we watched the Barcelona sail away from the aft terrace. At 7pm, Marella Discovery 2 departed the final port of call, sailing overnight to Palma Majorca. The views were incredible: cruise ships, ferries, cranes, and a gorgeous sunset. Short on time, we filmed our cabin tour — you can watch it here: Marella Discovery 2 Inside Cabin Tour. Dinner tonight was at Surf & Turf, Marella’s speciality steakhouse (£38.95pp). While enjoying homemade bread, we spotted dolphins swimming alongside the ship! Our table was right by a door, perfect for popping out between courses for fresh air and ship spotting. To end the cruise, we headed to the Band Jam — where all guest musicians join together for an upbeat, high‑energy performance. It’s the perfect way to wrap up a Marella cruise and ease those end‑of‑cruise blues. The following morning, we arrived in Palma Majorca. Compared to Southampton, disembarkation felt calm and relaxed. Breakfast at The Glass House was quiet, and getting a table was easy. After collecting our cases, we headed through the terminal and onto our coach — the transfer to the airport took around 20 minutes. Check‑in queues were long, so allow plenty of time if you’re flying home. Before we knew it, we were boarding the plane and heading home, bringing our Marella Discovery 2 adventure to an end.
