Tonnerrey T8 Ebike Ignition Key Install

This is a video to help you install a generic 2 wire ignition key to your Tonnerrey T8 Ebike. Always disconnect the battery when you are working on the wiring harness to prevent a short circuit or fire. Take care and cut gently to prevent slicing all the wires up. Use a wire stripper that has fine wire cutters like 24 gauge stripper. Tonnerrey uses the standard 5 pin Julet UART wiring code for their wiring so if you don't know what that is, the standard pinout is here. Pin Function Standard Color Description VCC (Power In) Red Main battery positive voltage sent from the controller to power the display. GND (Ground) Black Main system negative/ground. KEY / Lock (Power Out) Blue (or Brown/Purple) The ignition switch return wire. When the display turns on, it bridges VCC to this wire, sending battery power back to the controller to wake up the system. TX (Transmit) Yellow (or Green) Data line transmitting commands from the display to the controller. RX (Receive) Green (or Blue/Yellow) Data line receiving real-time stats from the controller to the display.
