Follow Me Pt.4

In Part 4 of Matthew 4:17–22, we focus on the purpose behind Jesus’ call: “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Jesus did not simply call His disciples away from their old lives. He called them into a new mission. Notice the promise in His words: “I will make you.” The disciples were not finished products when Jesus called them. As they followed Him, He would teach them, shape them, and prepare them to reach others. Their responsibility was to follow; Christ would do the transforming. This message explores what it means to become fishers of men and why reaching others is a natural part of following Jesus. We are not called to retreat from the world around us, but to enter it with the gospel, build relationships, and point people toward Christ. Jesus calls us to Himself, changes us, and then sends us out so that others might come to know Him too.
