Mother Lizzie Woods Robinson

Born into slavery in 1860, Mother Lizzie Woods Robinson became a pioneering leader whose work helped shape the Church of God in Christ for generations. Behind her title was a woman who endured loss, rejection, exhausting travel, and persecution. She helped organize women to study Scripture, serve their communities, and become leaders, building a legacy that continued long after her death. This is the story of her faith, her sacrifices, and her determination to keep moving forward by design. For me, this story is personal. I was raised in the Church of God in Christ. The foundation Mother Robinson helped strengthen reached across generations and touched my own life. Join me as we honor an extraordinary Black woman whose name deserves to be remembered.
