North Texas State University Lab Band feat. Lyle Mays: Lab 75 (Complete LP, released 1975)

Lyle Mays played a prominent role on this LP. This was his first recorded appearance--in addition to playing piano throughout, he composed all but one of the songs ("What Was" is a Chick Corea composition), and arranged the entire album. This album was the first university ensemble album to be nominated for a Grammy. More information below the track list. Track List ---------------- F.M. Also notable in this ensemble is bassist Marc Johnson, who became world-renowned in his own right, even playing in the Bill Evans Trio at one point. Steve Houghton and Pat Coil also appear in this ensemble. Lyle had three compositions appear on the ensemble's Lab 74 album as well. Once I find a clean copy of that, I can upload it here.
