Spoon Carving: Is This the Most Relaxing Skill?

This apple wood branch was going to be burned, but I decided to give it a second life and carve a spoon from it instead. 🪵 I took my hand tools outside and started carving. The spoon turned out a little unusual, but I really like its shape and the beautiful natural grain of the apple wood. It's quite small, so I think it might be perfect for coffee! And there's always something happening outdoors. I seem to have made a new friend — a friendly ginger dog who keeps me company while I carve. Some cats also came by to get warm. It's little moments like these that make carving outside so special. 🐕 At the end, I polished the spoon with an ordinary river stone to smooth the surface and bring out the wood's natural beauty, then finished it with an oil-wax blend.
