I had several wrong beliefs before my first game, and this video is about two of them: I must know everything, and I must be a math wizard. With my old plan, it would take me twenty years to finish a simple Pong game. It is also about the real Pong of 1972, Beethoven's first printed piece, a saying about comparison, and the math I still study, because I love it. 0:00 Two wrong beliefs 0:45 Placeholder, the eternal prototype 1:01 Sponsored by me 1:22 I must know everything 2:10 How big that stack is 3:13 I must be a math wizard 4:29 Twenty years 6:15 Beethoven first 7:05 The thief of joy 7:34 What I kept 8:41 Back to Pong Sources and further reading Game Engine Architecture Jason Gregory, Game Engine Architecture, the book's own site: https://www.gameenginebook.com/ Handmade Hero Casey Muratori, Handmade Hero, the project page on the Handmade Network (the series began on 17 November 2014): https://hero.handmade.network/ Casey Muratori, Handmade Hero, the episode guide, Day 001 to Day 667: https://guide.handmadehero.org/ Molly Rocket, Casey Muratori's studio, its Handmade Hero page (the old address handmadehero.org now leads here): https://mollyrocket.com/handmade Godot Godot Engine, its licence page (the MIT licence): https://godotengine.org/license/ Khan Academy Khan Academy, its "About us" page: https://www.khanacademy.org/about Pong Computer History Museum, "Pong", in its online exhibition Revolution: https://www.computerhistory.org/revol...
