Patrice Louise Rushen, born September 30, 1954, in Los Angeles (USA), is an African-American jazz, soul, and R&B singer, songwriter, pianist, and musical director. She is best known for her song Forget Me Nots which she co-wrote with bassist Ready Freddie Washington and Terry McFadden in 1982. The song was sampled by Will Smith as the main theme for the film Men in Black (1997), under the same title. It was also sampled by George Michael for the track “Fastlove” on the album Older (1996)...
