In Maryland, a judge cannot order a parent to pay for college. Child support ends at 18, or 19 if your child is still in high school — and after that, the only thing that obligates anyone to pay tuition is what you agreed to in writing during your divorce.
Cary Jacobson talks with Brian Eyster, founder of the G.R.A.D. Process, about the financial aid rules that divorcing parents get wrong, and the decisions made during a divorce that quietly reshape what college costs years later.
