The Arma Ballads of Exile: (Drinking Songs to Move Loot By) Five songs. One broken world. An Irish band, a few drinks, and a questionable amount of Pop Tabs. Welcome to The Arma Ballads of Exile: (Drinking Songs to Move Loot), a collection of original songs inspired by the world of Arma 3 Exile, brought to life with the help of the brilliant Irish band Cosán Wynd. These songs celebrate the joys and miseries of life in the wasteland: scavenging for gear, haggling with traders, building a base, taking on AI missions, losing hard-earned loot, and returning the next day to do it all over again. But this project has a story of its own. I happened to bump into the band again; we got reacquainted, a few drinks were involved, and before long we had a collection of Exile-inspired songs on our hands. What could possibly go wrong? Unlike some of my other gaming music projects, these tracks feature live musical performances and vocals from real musicians. Cosán Wynd brought the music and performances, while I contributed lyrics and guitar. The result is a set of songs with an Irish folk spirit, rowdy choruses, a bit of wasteland humour, and the occasional moment of reflection around the campfire. The lyrics appear on screen, so grab a drink, sing along, and try not to attract the attention of the local AI patrol.
