Jhota Murder:Pilot Flags Punjab Safety Concerns as Nangal Ambiyan’s Brother Reports Reduced Security

Congress leader and Rajasthan MP Sachin Pilot along with PPCC state President Pargat Singh, met the family of slain Kabaddi player Sandeep Nangal Ambiyan and murdered trader Timmy Chawla at Jalandhar today, during his whirlwind state tour to reach out to drugs and gangster affected families in Punjab. Paying garlanded tributes to the memorial statue of Sandeep Nangal Ambiyan at Shahkot, Pilot said the state government had failed to provide protection to anti-drug activists like Parvinder Singh Jhota, which has in turn sparked an exodus of youth from state. He also questioned the Central government for its failure to check drug trafficking across the porous Indo-Pak border. Sandeep Singh Nangal Ambiyan's elder brother Angrez Singh shares that four years after his brother was murdered during a Mullanpur tournament, his (Angrez's) security has been reduced even though he continues to get calls from unscrupulous elements. "I see them (accused) at courts and during peshis. It feels unsafe. Activists must get more protection in state, " Angrez Singh said. He also said despite action against local drug peddlers, he awaits action against overseas kingpins in his brother's murder case, who still escape the police net. #SachinPilot #CongressDrugTour #DrugMenance #ParvinderSinghJhota #IndoPakDrugTrade #PorousBorder #SandeepNangalAmbiyan #WitnessProtection Official YouTube Channel of The Tribune, North India’s oldest and most trusted newspaper, published from Chandigarh, India.
