""Sitam Par Khamoshi" – A Poetic Story
In the quiet lanes of an old city, lived a man who had once loved like fire and now remained quiet like ashes. His name was Armaan.
Years ago, he had fallen for Zoya — a voice in a crowd, a calm in the chaos. They wrote poems in glances, built dreams in silence. But as fate often does, it turned sweet beginnings into bitter endings.
Zoya was taken away by promises she didn’t make — to a world where Armaan’s silence was mistaken for weakness. And yet, he said nothing. Not a word when she left, not a tear when her name became someone else's. The city gossiped, the winds questioned, but Armaan remained still.
They called it cowardice. But only he knew — his silence was not surrender. It was a protest deeper than screams, a pain louder than accusations.
Years passed. He would sit by the shrine every Thursday, listening to the qawwals sing:
"Sitam par bhi khamoshi rahe, yeh kaisa pyaar hai..."
To remain silent even in cruelty, what kind of love is this?
And every time the verse echoed in the courtyard, Armaan would smile — a man who chose dignity over noise, love over pride, and silence over revenge.
Because sometimes, the deepest expression of love is not what you say… but what you endure.
