The My First Bitcoin Education Network is getting its biggest update yet: a public leaderboard that shows the real work of every community. Arnold Hubach explains why the network moved from light and full nodes to one network of equal communities, and how proof of work now speaks for itself. In this conversation, Patrick (Head of Communication and Events) talks with Arnold Hubach, Director of Community Growth at My First Bitcoin. Arnold supports independent educators teaching open-source Bitcoin education around the world. They cover why the leaderboard exists, how reputation points are earned, what each community profile shows, and the perks that open up as communities grow. They also cover the new governance model: there is no more voting on applicants, only a charter built on six community principles. Whether you already teach, want to start a community, or want to support independent Bitcoin education, explore the leaderboard at leaderboard.myfirstbitcoin.org and read the full scoring rules in its transparency tab. Ready to join? Sign the charter and send it to Arnold ƒcheck In this video: Why the Education Network replaced light nodes and full nodes with one network where every member is an equal community How the leaderboard brings transparency, so communities can show their work without anyone's subjective opinion deciding who is good How reputation points are earned across 54 items, from in-person Bitcoin Diploma cohorts and unconferences to translations, BTC Map merchants and published finances What a community profile shows and how new projects can use others' best practices to grow The perks communities unlock as they grow, while all resources stay free and open source for everyone The new governance model: anyone can join by signing a charter of six principles, including independence, impartiality, Bitcoin only and empowerment over profit Chapters 0:00 Meet Arnold and his role 1:23 The biggest network update yet 3:50 From teaching to empowering educators 6:03 Transparency instead of picking favourites 7:02 How reputation points work 10:17 Community profiles and filters 13:51 Goodbye light and full nodes 18:09 From training program to community 19:39 The 54 ways to earn points 23:03 Will the scoring rules change? 26:11 Your first 100 points 27:10 Perks for growing communities 30:59 New governance: the community charter 33:40 How to join the network 34:35 Collaboration between communities 38:12 Closing thoughts Learn more at myfirstbitcoin.org
