Can an aero gravel bike with road wheels get close enough to a full aero road bike that you only need one bike? In this video we test the Canyon Aeroad against the Argon 18 Dark Matter / Antimatter at York Sport track, using the same rider, same power target, and the same 1 km circuit. Joe Shillabeer rides four-lap efforts at around 290 watts to compare three setups: Canyon Aeroad with road wheels and road tyres Argon 18 Dark Matter / Antimatter with gravel wheels and big gravel tyres Argon 18 Dark Matter / Antimatter with road wheels and road tyres We also look at how the Argon compares geometrically to the Canyon Aeroad, including wheelbase, handling, and whether the gravel bike really can double up for chain gangs, crit racing, and proper gravel events.
