This Song is one of the most popular age old traditional folk songs.Kibbar Gar~Zom is prevalent across whole of Spiti valley and Upper Kinnaur valley. Since Like Almost all traditional old Songs ,we are not able to pinpoint exact years or century in which this songs was written. As the title says , this song was written & composed by Lady Gar~Zom of Kibbar.Kibber also Kyibar is a village high in the Spiti Valley in the Himalayas at 4270 metres or 14,200 ft in Himachal Pradesh in northern India. Gar~Zom is believed to be not an ordinary lady but a highly realised Spiritual lady who propagate through her songs teachings of Buddha. There is a popular saying in Spiti valley and Hangrang Valley that everyone from these valley must know at least three Songs; from To~d (Upper) Kibbar Gar~Zom(ཀྱི་བར་འགར་འཛོམས་གྱི་གླུ) Song , ba~r (Middle) Chugpo Pu~La(ཕྱུག་པོ་སྤུན་ལའི་གླུ།) Song and Sham( end) Hangpa Del~lak( ཧང་བ་བདེ་ལགའི་གླུ།)Song.These songs teach, speaks and guides one to live a well meaning live in Samsara.
