Born in East Texas and later relocating to Austin, Terrell’s early life was steeped in the storytelling traditions of country music, which heavily influenced his songwriting style. He began his journey in music as part of the indie country-rock band 'Not in the Face', where he honed his skills as a frontman and lyricist. The band’s raw energy and Terrell's charismatic performances helped them gain significant attention, both regionally and nationally. After several years with Not in the Face, Terrell ventured into a solo career, where he could further explore his personal artistic vision. His solo work blends traditional country with rock, Americana, and even hints of pop, creating a sound that is both timeless and modern. His debut solo album, 'Past the Lights of Town' (2015), was a deeply personal project that showcased his ability to merge introspective lyrics with lush, evocative melodies. The album received critical acclaim for its honesty and craftsmanship, solidifying Terrell’s reputation as a gifted songwriter. Terrell continued to build on this success with subsequent releases, including the album 'Westward' (2020), and 'Roughs" (2024).
