ಮಳೆಯಲ್ಲಿ Bisle Ghat ಅಂದ್ರೆ ನಿಜಕ್ಕೂ ಸ್ವರ್ಗ! 😍🌧️ | Ridge Point Mystery | Part-14

Soooo, after reaching the Bisle Ghat checkpoint near Kukke, my friend finally joined me, and together we started our ride towards Mallalli Falls through the mighty Bisle Ghat forest. 🏍️🌧️ And trust me, this is where the real adventure began! Bisle Ghat is one of those places where nature makes you forget everything else. Located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, around the Sakleshpur region of Hassan district, this forest landscape is known for its rich biodiversity, dense tropical greenery, wildlife, and breathtaking mountain ranges. The surrounding reserve forests connect with other important forest areas of the Western Ghats, making this region an important habitat for many wild animals and plant species. 🐘🌿 As we rode deeper into the forest, the scenery became more and more cinematic. The roads were narrow, the trees were incredibly dense, and the rain kept pouring without a break. Small waterfalls had appeared everywhere, with rainwater flowing down the hillsides and rocks. First, we got a stretch of tarmac, but soon the road changed into a narrow concrete road surrounded by thick forest. Every turn felt like entering another world, and every kilometre brought a new surprise. 🌧️💚 Unfortunately, we couldn't visit Bisle Ghat Viewpoint because of the heavy rain and thick fog. The mountains were hidden behind a blanket of mist, and visibility was poor. But honestly, even without reaching the main viewpoint, the journey itself was worth every kilometre. We stopped at several scenic spots, explored little waterfalls, took some crazy photographs, and enjoyed the magical atmosphere of the Western Ghats. Sometimes, the most beautiful part of an adventure isn't the destination; it's everything you experience along the way. During our journey, we also stopped at a temple on the roadside to seek blessings before continuing our ride. Surrounded by rain, mist, and towering trees, the place had a peaceful atmosphere that felt completely different from the outside world. 🙏🌿 And then came one of the most fascinating discoveries of our entire journey — Ridge Point! 😱🌍 We had no idea what made this place so special until we stopped and learned about its geography. Ridge Point, near Mankanahalli on the Bisle Ghat road, lies along a natural watershed that separates the directions in which rainwater flows. Here's the amazing part: water falling on one side eventually travels towards the Arabian Sea, while water falling on the other side flows towards the Bay of Bengal. Rainwater flowing westward joins streams and rivers such as the Kumaradhara and Netravathi before reaching the Arabian Sea. Water flowing eastward feeds into river systems connected to the Hemavati and Cauvery, eventually reaching the Bay of Bengal. 🌊 The stone marker at this location indicates the two directions of drainage. Historical accounts associate the marker with surveys conducted during British rule, when the ridge was identified as a point separating these drainage systems. Just imagine standing on a mountain ridge where rain falling on opposite sides can begin journeys towards two completely different seas! Nature has its own invisible boundaries, and we were standing right in the middle of one. 🤯🌧️ We had crossed this fascinating geographical point without knowing its importance. Only later did we realise how special that moment was. Sometimes, a road trip teaches you things that no planned itinerary ever could. After exploring the ridge and enjoying the beautiful forest surroundings, we continued towards Patla on our way to Mallalli Falls. The rain, narrow roads, mist-covered forest, and endless greenery made this stretch one of the most unforgettable parts of our monsoon ride. And the adventure wasn't over yet!
