Smelter: Dystopian Ambient Music | Dark Ambient Sleep Music for Sleep

I checked the furnace mouths again tonight. Number 14 is still warm. The inventory says sealed. ________________________________ The smelter runs along the plain like a range of hills, furnace after furnace, each mouth wide enough to swallow a town. The slag that poured from them lies below in hard grey terraces, set in the shape of the last pour. Tapping bars still lean against the casing where the crews left them. The furnace numbers are cast into the iron above each mouth, one to forty, and the inventory in the gatehouse lists all forty as sealed and cold. Thirty-nine are. Soot has settled on every ledge to the same depth, the depth of a very long time. The haze does not lift here; it only changes colour with the hour. Thank you for listening. Music synthesized in SuperCollider.
