15 years in business. A rebrand two years ago that felt like starting over. Then a brutally slow 2025, savings draining, and almost nothing booked for the following year. Katrina of The Kubicinas, a husband-and-wife photo and video team out of Cleveland, was watching the stress pile up before deciding to take one more chance on ads after a previous attempt had gone nowhere.
Three months after joining The Icon Agency, Katrina and her husband booked over $55,000 in weddings, went from nearly zero bookings for next year to almost fully booked out with inquiries already coming in for 2027 and 2028, and had zero no-shows on their consultation calls.
In this interview, Katrina talks candidly about the self-fulfilling cycle of feeling down when bookings are down, why she was hesitant to invest again after a bad experience with another ad company, and how getting comfortable on the phone with brides (something she never thought she'd be good at) transformed her confidence. She also shares how offering a pay-in-full option unlocked cash flow she'd never tapped in 15 years of business, and why she now spends just 2-3 hours a day on sales instead of living on social media.
If you feel like the things that used to work for your business just aren't working anymore, this is worth watching.
