SWING BRIDGE OPENS FOR BARGE AND PADDLEWHEEL BOAT! BIG POWER BNSF, CPKC YARD, AND BRIDGE BUILD!

10/11/2024 De Soto, WI. 10 units at the head of this West bound BNSF stack train! A crew was near the railroad tracks doing some dredge work too. An East bound stack train also made an appearance here. Lacrosse, WI. The CPKC was working the yard here as I grabbed a quick view with the drone. La Crescent, MN. This classic swing bridge was built in 1902 and is still holding up nicely! I didn't have time to catch a train here but did catch the bridge opening for some river traffic. Lansing, IA. A new bridge is on it's way at this location. It may be being replaced to make the channel safer for barge traffic.
